How to cleanse water damaged clothes

Flood water holds microorganisms that have got to be eliminated from water spoilt garments. Find out the appropriate action to cleanse and make germ-free saturated and spoiled washable clothing. Firstly as rapidly as achievable, organize unclean clothing into heaps of washable garments and ones that state “dry clean only”. Then classify washable clothing into whites and colored piles. Don’t put wet colored garments onto whites for the reason that dyes can transfer and run.

Next make use of a hose or shower head and wash as much mud as you can from the garments. Don’t put clothing that contains lots of mud straight into the washing machine as the mud can overpower the washing machines drainage mechanism.

Once that has been completed, clean the clothing in the warmest water temperature that is stated on the label for the garment. To sanitize, white cotton fabrics, add 1 cup of chlorine bleach into the wash. For material that can’t be cleaned with chlorine bleach (wool, silk, colored clothing), add 1 cup of pine oil sanitizer such as Pine-Sol or 1 cup of phenol sterilizer such as Lysol to the wash.

Subsequent to cleaning with sanitizer, examine clothes for residual marks. If blemishes linger, don’t make dry the garments. Permit dirty garments to immerse during the night in a mixture of oxygen-based peroxide and then clean with normal laundry detergent.

Dry up garments in a dryer at the uppermost heat setting suggested for the garment to assist the killing of germs. White clothing can be suspended externally in the sunshine where the ultraviolet waves will help eradicate microorganisms.

Do not stockpile wet garments in plastic bags as this will promote mildew development and blemishes. If you can’t wash garments straight away, don’t set down in a damp heap. Lay out the unclean garments and leave them to dry out independently ahead of washing if needed.
If your washing machine has suffered from pollution with flood water, then it needs to be cleansed and sanitized before its next use.

Childless By Choice

Childless by choice is a frequently employed euphemism for child-free individuals that is, those people who do not possess the need, nor the desires to have kids. For childless males, most of them continue to find a respected place in today's world, in contrast to childless ladies, that are thought of as both insane cat-lovers or lonesome spinsters. Single women of all ages with no children are under massive pressure from modern society. It seems that society cannot accept that a woman is happy living the bachelor life and being free to make her own choices.

More often than not, these single women without children are almost always pitied by others, and many will question why and how these depressed spinsters opted for a lifestyle which is against the norm for almost everyone. How normal is it that one woman will make a public decision not to venture in the accepted lifestyle of motherhood? Generally, women that prefer to be child-free will become a social concern issue. These ladies are confronted with controversy and disapproval from family members, close friends along with society in general. As with "bread" and "butter" going hand in hand, the words "woman" and "mother" have also been terms related so much to each other. So when one woman makes a decision that she isn't prepared to be a mommy, and would prefer to remainn child-free , society has the tendency to think that you could not be a "woman" if you will not be a "mother."

I am one of those women. Children have no appeal for me. I am single at present, but that might change later if I meet the right man. However, I know that I have no interest in having a child. I like the ability to just make last minute plans, to travel to exotic places and to focus on having a career. Does it make me lonely? Of course not! I have friends, I have family, I have a dog (no crazy cat lady here). I love my bachelor life! My mother tells me that if I put off having a child for too long then it will be too late if I change my mind later in life. I don't feel that 'just in case' is a valid reason for bringing a baby into the world so I will stay as I am - financially independent, moving up the career ladder and having fun!

Making A House A Home

Colours

Whenever doing any design project, try to avoid giving your room a cluttered look. Sometimes less really is more. Cramming your room full of furniture and accessories can make the room feel small. Use just a few select pieces of furniture instead, and enjoy the freedom to walk around. Think about what mood you want your space to convey. Do you have a small room that needs to feel more spacious? Maybe you would like a personal sanctuary where you can unwind and read a book.

This is an important first step when considering a room design. Choose a mood that you would like to project in your room. Is your room small, and you want to create a sense of space? Or is a quiet nook for relaxation more of your need? Determining what will go in the room is an important first step before thinking about what colors and fabrics will decorate the room. Color plays an important part in creating the mood of a room. If your ceiling remains white, this can make your room look larger. Similarly, a warm wall color can make you feel comfortable and at peace. Start your decorating project by getting rid of unnecessary items and organizing the things you need. Go through all of the stuff in the room and get rid of what you no longer have a use for. All of your extra stuff can be donated, recycled or sold at a yard sale for extra cash. If you are dealing with a lack of space, utilize light colors to open up your home. Having lighter colors gives off the feeling of more space in a cramped environment. Dark colors make a room look smaller, so try out darker colors for bigger rooms.

Many decorators use floors that have a reflection as a trick to make rooms look more spacious and bright. A white tile flooring or hard wood floors that are shiny happen to be excellent uses of reflective flooring. The reflective qualities add light and brightness to rooms instead of the darker appearance of carpet. It is crucial that you focus on small details. A unique look can be created by simply using tiny decor elements or coming up with color patterns with varying tiny items. For example, it is possible to create a unified decorative theme by selecting and coordinating elements like hardware, lighting fixtures or window treatments. Above everything else, it is important to make your house functional. That might mean damp proofing the basement to avoid mold growth and reduce the risk of flooding, or if you live in a high flood risk zone then considering alternative floor coverings such as tile or concrete that are not going to get heavily damaged in the event of flooding.

Ethnic Body Modifications

Here is the west, when we hear about body modification, our mind automatically goes to subculture kids with stretched ear lobes and nose rings, but what I want to talk about is the traditional style of body modification which inspired those and are still in use around the world. In fact, some of the traditional body modification practices would seem very invasive and excruciatingly painful to even the most hardcore enthusiasts here. These practices are rights of passage for young men and women with the theory that if they can endure this suffering then they can easily cope with adult life.

The cultures which still use body modification rituals tend to be those that have remained relatively untouched by the influence of western culture. One common image is that of Thai women with thick coils of metal around their elongated necks. A common misconception is that the rings stretch the woman's neck, but in fact, the heavy loops of metal push down the collar bones and adjust the angle of the shoulders

Another body modification which we are used to seeing is the lip plate. This has been used by many tribes throughout history, but the only one which is still actively using this form of body modification is Ethiopia's Mursi tribe. The tradition dictates that around one year prior to a woman being married, an incision is made in the bottom lip and over time the lip is stretched to accommodate bigger plates. Once theory suggests that the larger the plate the better wife she will make as she is proven to be strong.

Reclaiming My Body

Navel piercing

I've touched on the fact that I got started in body modification as a way to reclaim my body following abuse and it is something people ask me about. They can't really understand why it would help, or they don't believe that it is a good reason for a piercing or a tattoo. The only visible modification I have is my ears which are stretched a little bit, but I can't goo further because of work. I do also have my navel and my tongue pierced and I have a small tattoo on my hip of the words 'memento mori, memento vivere' which is Latin for 'remember your mortality, remember to live'. However, no-one sees those. I had them done for me, not the way they look.

It can be difficult to explain how they helped me to reclaim my body. I suppose in some way, my past meant that I had no control over what happened to my physical body and in surviving the ordeal I had to do something to take back by body and reclaim it as my own. In making the choice to adorn my body with piercings I was taking control of it for the first time in a long time. I was marking it as my own. My navel piercing was the first body modification I got. I had never even had my ears pierced before that. I think part of the healing process was that it hurt. Body piercings are painful, anyone who says otherwise is lying! However, it was a short lived pain and it was something I could see healing before my eyes. It served as a reminder that no matter how much I am hurt, I can get through it. I can heal myself. I never allowed my teenage trauma to break my spirit, but I did allow it to break my body. I never felt able to be comfortable in my own skin. I never dressed up or wore makeup or did anything to draw attention to my body. However, in making the choice to have a piercing, I felt like I was saying “You know what? This is my body and I am going to say what happens to it.” I truly believe that it worked because around 5 months after my first piercing I met my boyfriend and it was the first time I was able to be myself and actually relax around a man. I'm not saying a piercing will sort your love life out, but it did give me the confidence that when I met the right guy I didn't go running. I soon got my ears pierced, then my tongue and then stretched my ears.

With the tattoo it may be a little easier to explain. For many years I lived my life afraid. I was scared that if I took a risk on anything I would get hurt and I hadn't yet realised that it was ok to get hurt because I would heal. I was so afraid of getting hurt that I isolated myself and I didn't live my life. I don't think I have ever been suicidal, but I often think that with how I failed to have any resemblance of a life I might as well have been dead. It was my boyfriend who inspired the tattoo. After many dates, he was ready to take our relationship to something more serious and I felt the need to confess, because I new I had issues with trust and intimacy and this new level of our relationship would surely mean sex. When I managed to tell him everything he told me that he admired my ability to live my life regardless. He had no idea of the daily struggle to force myself to do so. We choose the words together and now they are my constant reminder that I only have one life and I cannot afford to waste it on fears and regrets.

One quite peculiar facet of our society's way of life and also the culture of several communities all over the world is body modification. Body modification has been happening for thousands of years for many different reasons. Very early modification had something with regards to cultural importance most of the time but in some cases it was merely as a result of vanity. Individuals from cultures all over the world all through time have been focused on their personal appearance and would go to fantastic measures to enhance it.

The very idea of beauty would appear to be one that was exactly the same through the entire world and all through time but that is certainly simply far from the truth. Within a particular African culture extended necks are thought beautiful. It is actually regarded as so significant that girls have long necks that they can place metal bands around their throat beginning at a young age and gradually increase the amount of bands to force their neck to extend into unusually long proportions. This modification can be so extreme that if the metallic bands ended up being taken from their neck, these ladies would be unable to keep their heads up.

At one time tiny feet ended up being regarded as attractive and incredibly essential for ladies to have in Japan. It had become regarded as extremely important for ladies to possess little feet that beginning in early childhood, Japanese girls had their feet bound in tight ribbons to stop their feet from developing.

More serious types of body modification which are currently in practice, include things like branding. When an individual is branded, an incredibly hot metal device is heated to extremely high temperature ranges and this piece of equipment is held against the epidermis for a few seconds to result in a serious burn. Once the burn heals it actually leaves behind a raised scar of the specific pattern that the person selected. This specific kind of body modification is pretty hazardous as burns very easily become infected. One really unusual body modification which is getting into style with the underground popular culture is implants. A stainless-steel or Teflon item is inserted underneath their epidermis to create protrusions on the exterior of your skin. This really is fairly uncommon still however it is increasing in popularity.

No matter what type of body modification a person decides on, whether it is tattooing or getting metal implements inserted beneath the skin, the reason why are usually extremely personal nature. Even though it is becoming a lot more common to see individuals with unusual body modifications a number of these body modifications continue to be fairly taboo. The only exemption could be obtaining a tattoo. This really is one specific kind of body modification that is certainly rising in popularity and is pretty socially acceptable.

Have you at any time thought about experimenting with body piercing? If the answer is yes then I fully support it and say go for it! Piercing is definitely an art and looks incredible when performed on the ears and eye brows. A lot of people choose piercing, because it's in style. Piercing can be carried out on the navel, the ears, and the tongue as well as pretty much any area of the entire body.

Body piercing is by no means a new manner of decorating an individual. This has been identified all through history. Previously it had been a ritual, now it's all about fashion. Whatever reason a person may have for getting a body piercing, the end result is something the wearer finds to be aesthetically pleasing. Our generation is willing to do pretty much anything possible to make themselves stand out in the crowd. Piercing done on body is one of those things. History gives us reason to believe that both lip piercing and tongue piercing was fashionable during ancient times and ear and nose piercing were also very popular body modifications. It is still very common among many tribal cultures who consider it to be an important ritual custom.

Even though body piercing is today considered as fashion, it is a serious matter as the healing process can be fairly complicated depending on which part of the body the piercing is located in and how safely the piercing has been carried out. The most important thing that anyone should consider before opting for body piercing is how hygienic the piercing studio is. The choice of jewelry is another important criterion before getting body pierced. Implant grade stainless steel, gold and also titanium are typically utilized in body piercing as these are the safest choices. Silver, although cheap is a poor choice for body piercing. It may seem strange to the older generation that young people are punching all sorts of holes in their body parts, but no doubt our predecessors had some pretty odd fashions in their day as well!

The social acceptance of body modification in our society has been rising over the years and hence more and more youngsters are going for body piercing. The safety and complication part should always be kept in mind before piercing as results show that any place other than the ears attract complications and therefore fashion should go hand in hand with safety and hygiene to make a person more attractive.
